Axel is a shy and gentle boy who needs a little extra time to get to know his surroundings and people. Once he is comfortable, he would just like to hang out quietly with you. He isn’t much of a climber, he prefers to stay low to the ground. He’s a big fan of calm environments and chilling out. While he is occasionally ok with being held, he’d rather sit next to you than on you.
Axel may take some time to open up and overcome his shyness in a new home, but he seems to get along ok with one or two other calm cats and has been known to cuddle up with cats he knows well. While Axel looks a little bit like a Maurice Sendak drawing from “Where the Wild Things Are”, we think his little grey helmet makes him look adorable.
Axel and Dolce were adopted as kittens and returned when their adopters could no longer provide the best home for them.
