Reiss is a pretty girl who loves to play. To Reiss, anything and everything is a toy! She likes to pile onto your bed at night and chase toes! She also likes to gently nibble on toes and fingers to let you know she loves you. Reiss is a friendly girl but right now isn’t big on being picked up or held for long periods of time – after all, she is a kitten and has very important things to do like play with toys and wrestle with siblings. The Tuxedo Brands kittens were found in the back of a work truck at a business. Attempts to trap and spay their mama are still underway. Reiss is FIV-positive. We recommend that she be retested at or after 6 months of age. FIV really isn’t scary if you understand it. FIV is a lentivirus, a slow-progressing virus that can compromise a cat’s immune system, reducing its ability to fight off illnesses. The virus has a long latent period then progresses so slowly that it may never affect a cat’s immune system. FIV cats can live just as long and be as healthy as Non-FIV cats and ultimately die of the same causes as Non-FIV cats. The virus cannot be passed to humans or other animals. FIV cats can live with other non-aggressive cats without spreading the virus.
