Sudara was aptly named after the Punjabi word for “beautiful”. Her foster mom thinks she looks like a floofy dragon with gorgeous copper eyes. Sudara loves to hang out with her people, watching TV from an armrest; lounging on foster mom’s desk while she’s working, or tucking into bed at night to sleep. Sudara is a quiet girl with a gentle “meep”, but she is an energetic playmate and a fierce hunter of crumpled paper. As a Persian mix, Sudara requires daily brushing, occasional eye cleaning, and periodic baths. Thankfully, she is amenable to all, even the pre-bath nail trims. If her monthly bath gets a few days delayed she will start leading her foster mom to the bathtub as a reminder! Sudara was found as a young kitten abandoned at a feral colony but quickly scooped up by the caretaker and brought to Alley Cats and Angels. Her cleft lip and nose do not extend into her palate (which could have been life-threatening). She does have a ventricular septal defect (VSD), meaning there is a small hole between the left and right chambers of her heart that was assessed by a cardiologist in February 2021. Neither surgery nor medication is required and it just something to watch. She is expected to live a full and happy life. She should get periodic checks by a cardiologist for her VSD. Sudara needs a very conscientious adopter who can provide the extra care needed (daily brushing, eye cleaning, monthly baths, and watching for abnormal (labored/rapid breathing), as well as periodic checks by a cardiologist for her heart.
