Community Cat Management

Community cats live in our community but are not pets. They may be feral or friendly.  Their community is their home, and we support their health and safety through TNVR ( Trap / Neuter / Vaccinate / Return). TNVR helps to stabilize cat populations via humane sterilization and vaccination, which ultimately benefits both the cats and the humans in the community.

If you have identified a colony of community cats in the Raleigh Triangle area, please learn more about how we assist with TNVR by completing one of the forms below. Once we receive your form, we will reach out to you to discuss your individual situation.

STEP 1:  PLAN

Reach out to us, we’ll meet with you to assess the colony and come up with a feeding plan that will maximize success and minimize stress on both you and the cats.  Contact Us

STEP 2: TRAP

Community cats must be in single traps when brought to the vet for their humane sterilization and vaccination, so trapping is the first step.  We will help you every step of the way.  If you are trapping more than one cat please let us know how many you estimate in the colony, as the process for trapping may be somewhat different.

Trap Loan Request Form (we will explain how to use it)

Spay/Neuter Request Form (if you have your own trap)

STEP 3:  NEUTER / SPAY / VACCINATE

Alley Cats and Angels works to make spay/neuter accessible for EVERYONE. Spaying and neutering is vitally important! You can purchase a spay/neuter voucher for $85 which will be a significant discount on what most veterinarians will charge.

We will subsidize spay/neuter vouchers for individuals with a true financial need; so, if you are caring for a cat that is not spayed or neutered, we want to help. Please reach out and let us know your situation.

STEP 4:  RETURN

Once your cat(s) has recovered, you get to do the fun part and release your ear-tipped cat back into their community.  We hope that you will share videos with us so that we may celebrate your success on social media!

If you are outside of the Triangle, area please find resources and support near you by contacting your local SPCA, Humane Society, local rescue groups, or local animal welfare office.
